History
Montfort Institute of Advanced Studies (MIAS),was established in 2007, to further the cause of counsellor education and training by offering a P.G. Diploma and Master of Science (M.Sc.) Programme in Counselling Psychology, appropriate for counselling work in community agencies, school systems, couple and family settings, private practice, and organizational settings. The overall philosophy of the programme is to prepare counsellors with academic, professional, and personal credentials to perform effectively in their work settings. The P.G. Diploma in Counselling Psychology will be awarded by MIAS and M.Sc degree will be awarded by Martin Luther Christian University. At MIAS, we pride ourselves on our tradition of maintaining healthy personal interaction among staff and students, encouraging a family atmosphere, conducive for studies.
Aim
Train dedicated professionals, empowered to light up the dark and dingy work of dejected and grieving people, leading them from darkness to dawn. MIAS strives at bringing light to people in need and unlocking the wholeness of life in individuals, through their empowerment.

Students achieve these overall programme objectives and specific course objectives through coursework, practicum, internship, successful completion of prescribed projects and assignments, personal therapy, field visits, etc.
