STUDENT SERVICES AND SUPPORT SYSTEM
MIAS recognises that the personal growth-aspects of students are as important as academic and skill development. To this effect we provide services for self-care, guidance and mentoring.
PERSONAL THERAPY
Participation as a client in individual or group therapy can be both a growth experience for the student and a significant educational aspect of a programme to prepare mental health professionals. Experience as a client in personal therapy is, mandatory.
GUEST LECTURES& WORKSHOPS
Guest lectures & workshops on various topics are arranged during the semester periodically.
ENDEARING CAMPUS LIFE AND ENRICHING OUTREACH ACTIVITIES
Montfort is well-known for the creative and inspiring activities of the students in the campus. There are sports, cultural, social and spiritual activities that keep the campus life endearing and inspiring.
FIELD VISITS / COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMMES
All students are required to visit Mental Health Institutions, NGO’s, etc., and involve themselves in community outreach programmes for the underprivileged andlearn through rendering service to the society / neighbourhood development and emerge as effective leaders.
STUDENT COUNCIL
Students are encouraged to be involved in self-governance. Student council is elected to represent the studentbody of the entire student community of the college and helps to share students’ ideas, interests, and concerns with student community and improve the quality of campus life by organising exhibitions, cultural events, in-house publications, and other spectacular multi-cultural programmes in the field of Counselling and Psychology.
SPORTS/RECREATION
To foster interest in sporting activities among the students, the college has provided wide range of facilities for both outdoor and indoor games. The College Sports Day is normally held during the month of March / April every year. The large compound with its lush greenery and orchard provide a very relaxing environment for the students to spend their leisure time.
PLACEMENT CELL
The placement cell provides information and guidance to help students find hands-on experience and employment opportunities. The cell organises campus recruitment to provide students with career opportunities.
KANNADA CLASSES
Kannada classes are offered during the semester to all non-Kannada speaking students.
COACHING FOR NET
Students who want to appear for NET (National Eligibility Test) conducted by UGC for lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship are offered coaching to appear for this test.
